Guidi srl continues to consolidate its important growth. It was presented at the last edition of the International Boat Show in Genoa, where the company participated in the sign of continuity and continuation of a sustained development. For the manufacturer of valves, water filters and nautical accessories, the event in the Ligurian capital, held last September 19-24, was an opportunity to exhibit its entire range of products and meet Italian and foreign customers, partners, agents, collaborators and suppliers. But the company did not stop here: immediately after the Genoese show, Guidi took part in the B2B IBEX trade fair in Tampa, Florida, from October 1-3 last year. It was precisely here, a year ago, that Guidi opened his U.S. company with the aim of conquering this market as well.
The last few months for Guidi srl have seen growth, albeit slight, in the first half of the year compared to the already excellent results of 2023. It is also interesting to note how the breakdown of turnover between sales in Italy and abroad is changing: “If it used to be split 60/40, in the first months of this year we observed a growth in foreign turnover, which today accounts for about 44%, with Italy at 56%,” announces a corporate statement. “One of the explanations for this adjustment is the constitution of the Guidi warehouse in the United States, which has favored the increase in sales in that country.”
Meanwhile, at the Grignasco site (Novara), expansion work continues on the Guidi srl factory, divided into three lots and aimed at increasing the site’s surface area by a total of 1155 square meters. The first lot, of about 300 square meters and intended for vertical warehouse and goods receiving, is practically ready. This will be followed by the second, dedicated to production, of 190 square meters. Finally, work will begin in the autumn on the third lot, for warehousing and production, for which the executive design has been finalized. The new photovoltaic system was also completed on the roof of the existing warehouse, extending over 550 square meters for 100 kW of power, as a testimony to the company’s environmental sensitivity.
“For the moment we are in line with the 2023 data and we are satisfied,” comments Daniele Guidi, the company’s quality and sustainability manager. “In this 2024, in fact, we had to deal with a sharp increase in raw materials, especially copper, whose prices shot up immediately after Covid. Energy in Italy is still very expensive, the most expensive in Europe, and this is an unfortunately well-known and persistent problem of our entire industrial system, not only of Guidi srl.”
“Another critical aspect is the slowness of some subjects with which the company constantly deals with for the management of its products, such as certification companies, which slow down commercial activity.” concludes the corporate statement.
