Visitors to the Cannes Yachting Festival had the opportunity to see the new Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid in action. Greenline 58 Fly Hybridthe flagship of the Greenline fleet, demonstrating how luxury and ecological responsibility can coexist. Thanks to its new-generation hybrid engine and carefully selected interiors, this yacht’s emissions are up to 40% lower than those of a standard diesel engine.
The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid features the Slovenian brand’s familiar lines, but with the addition of a generous flybridge that gives the yacht an extra dimension for cruising. The architect’s design Marco Casali has created a sleek, timeless silhouette that minimizes the appearance of the flybridge while maximizing usable space.
The exterior spaces of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid
In the outdoor saloon of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid, flexibility is the key word. In addition to a fully equipped open-air helm station, there’s room for a stylish bar, a dining table for six and an open sundeck for lounging or sitting. The sturdy three-bar parapet at the stern and glass parapet at the bow do an excellent job of safety.
The main aft deck offers an elegant and comfortable multifunctional space. Its centerpiece is the beautiful square dining table, with deep settees on both sides, offering an open view of the ocean. Down a short ramp of teak-clad stairs, you reach the swim platform, which is another distinctive feature of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid. Here there is a depth of almost 2 meters, enough to place sun loungers and chairs for an unbeatable seaside setting. Alternatively, you can use the hydraulic controls to lower the platform into the sea. The comfortable cushioned seat embedded in the transom opens to reveal ample space for toys, capable of accommodating a boat up to 500 kg, although for performance reasons a lighter boat is recommended. Of course, the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid also features a lounge area at the bow.
A bright living room and open space
The large mullionless windows transform the interior of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid into a bright and welcoming space that maintains a strong connection with the sea. The extra-large galley, equipped with refrigerators, freezer, induction hob and dishwasher, is located aft and can be fully opened onto the outside deck thanks to the glazed door and tilting window.
One of Greenline’s distinctive features is the space under the galley, which can be used for a variety of purposes. Some boat owners prefer to dedicate this space to food storage, while others opt for a laundry and technical space, and still others convert it into a separate cabin.
The materials chosen by Greenline Yachts and Marco Casali are in line with the shipyard’s philosophy on responsible boating. In the specific, they are recycled fiber fabrics, sustainable woods and recycled PET foam. In addition, waste is recycled or used to generate heat. The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is offered with two interior colors that reflect different personalities: a cool atmosphere reminiscent of whites and light blues; and a warmer finish using muted whites and more natural beiges.
The below deck spaces of the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid
The night area is accessed by descending a wide staircase to the lower deck, where a vestibule gives access to the three cabins. The most beautiful of all is, of course, the owner’s suite, which occupies the entire space of the boat at midship. Generous hull lights let in natural light and offer a beautiful view of the anchorage. In addition to the king-size bed, there is a settee, vanity table and dressing area. Equally up to par is the bathroom, with designer faucets and elegant porcelain that contrast with the warm wood finishes and graceful curves of the woodwork. The bathroom is a calm and relaxing space, with a walk-in shower and separate shower heads.
Forward is another large VIP double cabin, also with ensuite bathroom. To starboard is a third flexible cabin that can be configured as a double for children or double for friends, with ensuite bathroom in both cases. It is possible to convert this cabin into a dedicated office or TV room.
Hybrid propulsion
Greenline Yachts has always put sustainability first and the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is no different, using the same hyper-efficient “super-dislocating” hull design as the smaller boats in the range, delivering optimum performance at varying speeds, from 6 knots cruising to 29 knots at maximum.
As a pioneer of the hybrid industry in the boating sector, Greenline Yachts has been perfecting its technology for more than 15 years, and the latest implementation enables the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid to offer an impressive 20 nautical miles of range in silent electric mode at speeds of up to 6 knots. Over the typical lifecycle of a Greenline yacht, the hybrid system enables emissions to be reduced by up to 40%.
The sunroof includes a 4 kW installation to power the on-board services. While it may also slightly increase the yacht’s range, its main advantage is to allow long days and nights at anchor without having to turn on a noisy generator. Combining Greenline’s high quality lithium polymer batteries with a solar input of up to 20kWh, three days at anchor can be obtained without a generator. An autonomy that extends to infinity if no air conditioning is required.
“Our unique approach to responsible sailing offers yacht owners the opportunity to choose between speed when needed and optimum efficiency over the shortest distances.” explains Greenline CEO, Vladimir Zinchenko. “The Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid is an example of this concept, but it can also be found in all our other yachts. The Responsible Yachting philosophy has led us to significantly reduce waste and energy use on construction sites, eliminating paper marketing material and recycling as much as possible.”
